The Australian Journal of Mining hosted its 12th Annual Global Iron Ore Conference on the 24th & 25th March 2009 at the Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre.
The event addressed the challenges created by the current financial market including - key pricing issues, the introduction of an iron ore index, update on project expansions and care & maintenance operations, forecast supply and demand, financing alternatives for projects in times of a global credit crunch, infrastructure challenges, potential mergers and importance of critical mass and optimization.
