High-vis padding for impact hazards

by AJM Staff created Jan 24, 2012 05:47 PM

West Australian maker of impact-injury reduction products, Safepad, says its range will protect workers and save worksites time and money.

Safepad products are designed to reduce the likelihood of impact by the use of high visibility material and minimise the consequences of impact by covering the hazard with protective padding.

The company’s products include pads, tube-ends, cylinders and edge protection that are available in various sizes. All are built to function in heavy-duty industrial work environments, Safepad said.

Safepad’s products have flame-retardant and static-resistant materials that it says have been site-tested in offshore, corrosive and temperature extreme environments.

In the past, impact hazards were either painted or covered with old rags and duct tape, according to Safepad.

Safepad said impact hazards caused almost 25% of all work related injuries in Australia in 2009-2010 and that there were 157,300 separate incidents generating about $385m in treatment and downtime costs.

fantastic to see an Australian company producing a safety product which is amazingly simple and easy to use! It makes the old ways of protecting workers from protrusions on site, look like a "patched up job". The stats showing time and cost efficiency are most impressive! Hope australian companies have the vision and a commitment to safety, to be the first to adopt safepads. What a great product. Congratulations SAFEPAD and good luck!

I seen these on a couple sites in the Pilbara when i was working as a scafolder, they are really good. Especially in tight spots where you bump into objects. All companies should have them on site.
