The Keech Mechanical Bucket (KMB) features a complete bolt-on section at its front, setting it apart from standard LHD buckets on the market.

Newcrest’s Cadia East mine is currently trialling a 12m³ bucket that has been fitted with a Keech Armourblade edge system on two underground loaders. Regional sales manager for Keech, Mark Adams, says the results have been good.

“The KMB bucket front, with the Keech Armourblade edge system, can be replaced within three hours on site. Operators simply unbolt the front section and replace it with a new one.”

KMB buckets were developed in conjunction with Canadian company Carriere Industrial Supply. They are available in a sizes ranging from 7m³ up to 12m³, manufactured from quenched and tempered steel and are suitable for all scoop underground loaders.
