New MICROMINE 2010 builds on unique features
Micromine has announced the release of MICROMINE 2010, the latest version of its leading geological exploration and mining software.
Popular for its user friendly functionalities, MICROMINE enables geologists and engineers to locate prospective regions, search for mineral indicators, model and visualise ore distribution patterns and design mining operations.
Commenting on the release of MICROMINE 2010, Micromine’s founder and managing director, Graeme Tuder said, “This is an important release for us, particularly at a time when our key competitors are trailing so far behind with product updates.
“The enhancements associated with MICROMINE 2010 are extensive and add significant functionality, whilst also increasing the appeal of software in areas where MICROMINE already has so many advantages.”
The strength of MICROMINE in the market is based around user friendliness and simplicity. MICROMINE 2010 builds on these features, further differentiating it from other products in the market.
MICROMINE 2010 includes significant changes to features such as Plotting, which has now been totally redesigned using the same Vizex seamless 2D/3D interface used throughout MICROMINE; Pit Optimisation enhancements including setting optimisation parameters as functions; Wireframe enhancements including smoothing, edge highlighting and colouring on any attribute; new Section Control Files to instantly jump to previously-defined sections; geolinked windows; and Fly-throughs, which now produce visual animations using minimal viewpoints.
Paul Hooykaas, MICROMINE’s Brisbane-based product strategy manager said, “Conceptually, MICROMINE has always been ahead of its time in the way it manages information. It is a mature, robust geological exploration and mine design tool that has been refined over 13 years.”
MICROMINE was the first geological software on the market to be delivered as a true Windows application. Continuing in this tradition, MICROMINE 2010 supports Windows 7, therefore passing on the benefits offered to clients by the Windows application.
