While the Trade Exhibition is a central part of QREX, the event also incorporates international and regional conferences, as well as tours to mines, processing plants and research centres.
QREX foundation sponsor and Queensland Caterpillar dealer Hastings Deering will have one of the largest stands at the QREX Trade Exhibition, with more than 200 square metres of space booked.
It will use the event to showcase several new models in Cat’s Compact Construction Equipment (CCE) range of equipment.
According to Darren Wilson, Hastings Deering’s Rockhampton area manager, the company was keen to be involved with QREX for a number reasons.
“Our involvement in QREX is a great opportunity for us to increase exposure and awareness of the benefits of purchasing from Hastings Deering, as well as increasing the profile and awareness of our product offering,” said Wilson.
“We are also keen to enhance and optimise our profile as a significant contributor to local industry and community.”
Hydco International will use QREX to launch the new the Hydco 1200H multi-purpose exploration drill rig. The rig will be one of the show’s largest outdoor exhibits, featuring a 12 m mast when fully extended.
Other companies that will use QREX to highlight new offerings, include:
• Pioneer Drilling, which will unveil new additions to its fleet of BMA mine-compliant drilling rigs
• Hytorc Queensland, which will demonstrate the world’s first hydraulic torque and tension wrench without a reaction arm
• Amare Safety, which will demonstrate a new emergency first aid washing solution for treating chemical splashes to skin and eyes, and hearing protection for high noise environments
• Capability Resources, which will introduce a new welding safety device.
Other notable companies exhibiting at QREX include: Blackwoods; Cat Rental; Genie; Minecorp; Offroad Trucks; Reliance Petroleum; RS Components; Terex; Toyota Materials Handling.
QREX week will also encompass two industry conferences and a number of industry tours in addition to its trade exhibition.
The International Industry Conference will take place on Monday July 20 (the day before the QREX Trade Exhibition opens). This conference will address the issues that are facing Australia and the global resources community over the coming year, and will confront the many challenges facing the global community, including energy security, diversity and the outlook for a low carbon future.
The Australian Resources Conference will take place on Friday July 24 (the day after the Trade Exhibition closes) and will focus on the future of Queensland and Australia’s resources sector. It will highlight the strong resource industry growth of the 21st century and what is necessary to continue this growth.
