Despite government guidelines and ongoing worker training and induction programs miners continue to be injured when working at height. This feature will look at the areas within minesites where workers are most at risk and examine the latest safety guidelines and products finding favour in Australian mines.    

Australian mines can achieve lower operating and maintenance costs, as well as maximize throughput, by adopting more compact, economical and efficient plants. This feature will include updates form engineers and scientists working in the field as well as case studies on the efficient deployment of technologies in flotation and separation operations.     

As mines can be found in the harshest most remote conditions and operate around the clock maintenance of plant and equipment has to be properly planned and swiftly completed. This feature will examine the latest trends in predictive maintenance systems, asset management technologies and condition monitoring tools.   

Tyres are a major cost for every mining operation. Proper tyre management can 0065tend tyre life and reduce tyre overhead. Safety and training has become important and the job of changing a tyre is no longer an unskilled one. This feature will look at the latest tyre technology as well as the latest products for tyre changing and tyre management to ensure long life and employee safety.

Australia continues to be a leader in underground mining productivity and safety.  We’ll look at the next generation tools and the latest technical solutions providing efficiency, productivity and safety in underground mining operations. We’ll also examine the latest in slope monitoring and surveying technology.
